Weekend Treats

I finally made it back to Native Foods, and was in the mood for a salad.  I settled on the Mexican Cobb Salad, and the cashier assured me it was the best one on the menu.  It was also huge.
 Still eating it...
I started reading the book club selection...
I've been working on this same avocado all week - and it still yields a perfect slice each time!
I picked up a few groceries at Whole Foods, and treated myself to a Bhakti Chai...
I went to another spin class this morning - this time taught by my friend, and she made us work! I plan on making it to her Spin & HIIT class tomorrow.  Enjoy the MLK holiday! We are taking the high school students to see Selma this week, so the honoring of this great man will continue!

  1. I want to see Selma! Let me know what you think of it! A local movie theater/cultural arts center is showing some civil rights movies for free today in honor of MLK day.
Mexican Cobb Salad looks great! Although I usually try to finish a salad, I rarely have one that tastes good a second day.
That Bhakti Chai! I still have not bought it, but I'm glad you treated yourself.

    1. We're going on Thursday, so I'll be sure to write about the film in my daily post!

Oddly enough, the salad wasn't soggy a day later. It definitely made two big portions!

  2. Looks like a really great weekend!! That salad is huge and amazing and looks so yummy. So jealous of Native Foods, I want to try it so bad! The avo toast looks delicious and I still wish I could find the chai. I bet that would be a great treat after spin.

So glad you are feeling better and are back in the saddle! Sounds like you've been working hard in those classes and I'm so glad you are feeling better :) enjoy your day off tomorrow!

    2. I wish I was off tomorrow, too! ;) But today has been great. I can't wait for you to try Native Foods - so many yummy dishes to choose, it'll be hard to pick.

Despite it being a bad time on the calendar year, getting sick when I did - when I had two weeks of uninterrupted rest with no stress from missing work... I think that is why I've been able to bounce back. Today's class was brutal. Cycle, row machine, interval workout stations (with station #5 being my favorite - burpees. Ugh!), row machine, and back on the bike. I have so much improving to do! :)

  3. That Salad is ridiculously massive. I would order it again, but it is just too much food.

How do you keep the Avocado from going brown?!

    1. It is absolutely huge! But I enjoyed it the next day, too. The lettuce was still crunchy, and the avocado wasn't brown and mushy. It might be one for sharing! Ha ha!

I keep the pit in the remaining avocado, only slicing off what I need, stored in a small glass tupperware in the fridge. This one has been open for over a week, and I'm still not done with it!
