The Waiting

Eleven relatives in the waiting room.  Seven hours of surgery.  The mood was generally positive, with a little anxiety (read: everyone kept it together except for Grandma, whose nervous energy caused her to demand walks to the gift shop and non-stop chatter.).

The surgeon reported that he was able to remove all of the brain tumor.  He cautioned that he would be very tired and weak for a while, so it would be best for not everyone to see him tonight.  We sent in Grandma and two uncles, and he was awake and talking! I will head over to the hospital tomorrow after work, but for now - Remy gets all of my attention!

Thank you for all your positive thoughts and prayers!! <3

  1. Thank God he elected to have the surgery! Now get him out of the hospital before they kill him!

    1. He probably won't be out for another week! His doctor has a reputation for being very conservative with his discharge, which means he tends to keep people in the hospital longer than most. He's still in the ICU, will probably move to another floor tomorrow.

  2. I am with Shen, it is such a relief that he chose to have surgery. I am so glad to hear that they got everything out and that he was up and talking after surgery! Sending lots of healing and positive vibes your grandfather's way and lots of virtual hugs your way. Thanks for the update.
