Weekend Greatness

I can't believe one week of summer break has come and gone! No! Go slower!  Luckily, this weekend was a productive one and enjoyable. Here are some highlights:
 Farmer's Market:

$5 for everything you see above.  Organic strawberries were $1 per box!!!

Final flower arrangement:

Native Foods:

For Father's Day lunch, we went to Golden and this was the view outside of the restaurant:

The restaurant choice was Ali Baba Grill.  Review: Great hummus, cold pitas, fantastic falafel, too much salad dressing.  I didn't have an entree, but the family said it was decent.

Bonus photo: Terra is doing great.  Loads more energy, eating a lot, and sassy as ever.

  1. Sounds like a really great weekend!! Your farmer's market is way better than mine. So many options and the prices are great! Those strawberries are gorgeous! Farmer's market strawberries are the best, they always smell amazing.

Your Native Foods meal looks really delicious and it sounds like you had a nice Father's Day with your family. Dinner looks great, especially that hummus, yum!!

So glad that sweet Terra is feeling better and has her energy back! Such a great picture of her. She has such a sweet face!

    1. Our market is a little short on produce that I love right now, and the greens are usually chard and lettuce. Thus, a little further into the season and it'll be perfect!

I should have taken a picture of the falafel because it was the best I've had.

Terra is a good girl, and I am also glad that she is more like her former self!

  2. Wow, that's a great price for the strawberries! Greg kindly bought me some but I won't buy them for myself. It's a shame too cuz they're so delicious, aren't they?
The view from the restaurant is beautiful. And the hummus looks nice and creamy!
Terra is a fuzzbabe. Don't let Remy rip up those flowahs.

    1. I know, such a great price. I wish I could have tasted them before buying as I like to know why it is "such a great deal". Ha! Probably end of the season, I'm guessing.

Remy smells the flowers each time he goes outside, it is so funny. I ought to try and capture it.

  4. $1 for organic strawberries? Wow! Your flowers look gorgeous but can't compare to that little mush at the end <3

  5. I've been wondering about Terra. She looks beautiful.

Unbelievable deal at the Farmers Market! So lucky. Why didn't you buy more than one box of Strawberries?

Is Ali Baba your Dad's favorite restaurant?

Make sure to keep dead-heading those Marigolds.

Three months till my Native Foods Reuben.

    1. I knew a Terra update was in order, and she's usually a better photo model than Remy - thus, snapping a cute one shot isn't a tall order!

I only purchased one, even though I did consider more, because I didn't want to be wasteful and I didn't know their quality. I'll go back next Saturday to see if they are running the same deal.

He likes to try different types of ethnic food, and this is a place he had tried once or twice and liked. My mother told him to go wherever he wanted, and that's where he drove the car. Ha!

I will do my best on those marigolds! Aren't they beautiful?!

I am already bracing myself in case you don't care for the reuben. I hope that is not the case!

  6. Your flowers look fantastic! The color variety is beautiful together. What a joy to see them each day. :)

I can't believe you got all of that for $5!! That's incredible. Do you ever see the Ba-Nom-A-Nom food truck there? We were hoping they'd be in Fort Collins one day but no luck. Your Native Foods is making me crave eating there again! Thankfully we have a day trip to Chicago planned next month, so we can have lunch there.

I'm glad that Terra is doing well. It's always so worrisome when they're not themselves. :(

    1. Oooh, Chicago! I've been meaning to revisit, as I was only there for two days a lifetime ago. Such beautiful architecture there, and I'm sure lots of great eats!

I will have to look for the Ba-Nom-A-Nom truck! The Vegan Van has been out of service since last fall, thus I am missing out on food truck fare.

I am so thankful Terra is doing well, too! She's 14 years old, so I know her years are ticking but I am in denial for the meantime. ;)

  8. I cannot believe all that was just $5!! And what an amazing deal on the berries- i would have bought a ton of them. My family makes fun of me when i go to the farmers market in ca near them, i come back with insane amounts of produce since it all looks wonderful and its so much cheaper than what i have to pay.
Those flowers are so cheerful! And good to see Terra is doing well :)

    1. Definitely a great deal for all of that produce! I tried them this morning, and they are a little crunchy - so they must have been picked early. I'm going to see what they have this weekend!

Thank you! Terra is a trooper.

  9. Ohhh I miss our $1 organic strawberries (maybe ours were $1.99), the season just ended here. I haven't even bought strawberries since because it pains me to go back to $4-6. Enjoy the rest of your week!

    1. I'm guessing this was end of the season pricing as well! With Saturday being the summer solstice, it's about to be melon season! Woo hoo!

Thank you, and same to you!

  10. Go Terra! Glad things are on the up. Those $1 strawbs are a real find - did they taste as good as they looked? The Native Foods sarnie also looks amazing - what was in it? I love the whole pickle on the top thing. I can't understand those that fear pickles - so good!

    1. The Native Foods meal was their reuben sandwich! Seitan slices, cashew cheese, sauerkraut on marbled rye. Yummy!
