New & Old

Old: Whole Foods Cranberry Quinoa Salad, Asian Sesame Salad.

New & Old: Tofu Scramble (with Salsa and Cheddar Daiya - in honor of the upcoming holiday), grits

Old: TJ's Chickenless Strips, potato wedges

 New:

The Farmer's Markets opened this weekend, but I didn't have time to go.  It's definitely on my list for the next one! Woo hoo! And it was 86 degrees today. Which is somewhat worrisome for the summer temperatures to come...  See you soon!

  1. I don't even know where to start!! First of all, how are you feeling?! Better I hope? Were you able to rest this weekend? Hopefully you are well.

What delicious looking meals this weekend! I love baked oatmeal and Chocolate Covered Katie never steers us wrong! Beautiful WFs salads and I love seeing your tofu scrambles. Hooray for cinco de mayo!! Definitely a festive meal :) Your potato wedges always look delicious and that juice sounds so interesting and delicious!! I need to power up my juicer, I love making up new combinations.

86 degrees?! That's crazy! The warmest it's been here so far is like 70, which is pretty warm. That's great about the Farmer's Market! I totally forgot, they probably open up soon here too! I'll have to check that out.

    1. I am feeling much better! Still a bit of a stuffy nose, but Thursday was definitely my worst day.

The old bananas have been tempting with a bread, but the oatmeal was much faster. Ha! I love her recipes, they rarely disappoint! I'll trade you this juice for your juicer! ;)

It has been hot the last three days, and I miss spring. It came for about three days before early summer arrived. But at least there is the Farmer's Market! Woo hoo!

  2. You know that old song, make new friends but keep the old - one is silver and the other gold, that's what this reminds me of.
The chickenless tenders look so legit! No sauce? Those Suja drinks are also really tasty and refreshing but I don't think I've tried that one.
Glad to hear you are feeling better. It's good you got yr one illness of the year over with before the trip! Sick on vacation is the worrrrsssst.

    1. Ha ha! So clever! I sometimes think of song lyrics when picking a title.

Oh there was sauce. Just ketchup, but I usually go for that or bbq. The juice was a great try - but it was on sale, as normally I'm not going to fork over a meal price for a beverage.

I'm going to channel all of my wellness for the trip! Thanks, Maud!

  3. Great looking Grits.

You need a drizzle of Heinz-57 on those Tenders and Taters.

    1. I'm all about the ketchup with the TTs.

But the worst part about grits: sticking to the bottom of your pan.

  4. I love farmers' markets too, but I haven't gone yet this year either. And that cranberry quinoa looks delish! I like to put cranberries in as many things as possible. :)

    1. Hi Sage! Ooh, I love cranberries in things, too! I have some dried ones in my fridge right now that are calling to be added to a salad...

  5. Wow, 86! We're barely been out of the 40's so far this year. That drink sounds really good, especially with having lime & pineapple in it.

    1. Hi Molly! I sure hope we don't have another 100+ degree summer on the horizon. Last year was quite enjoyable, and I'd be sad to not have it again. Lime and pineapple juice alone would be worth purchasing!

  6. Your scrambles always look amazing. Also, I can't wait to try the banana bread oatmeal. I'm an oatmeal-a-holic at the best of times, but that looks particularly delicious.
