Grainy

Here's the truth: my eating habits are better when I drink the Detox beverage in the mornings. I'm going to resume that habit in the morning.  But for now, enjoy my grain-rich meals from today...
Kashi Heart to Heart Blueberry Clusters with almond milk.

Mushroom & Spinach Barley Risotto - very rich.  I also had baby carrots, but didn't photograph them.

Whole Foods Hot Bar: Coconut Rice, Matar with Tofu, Asian Sesame Salad.

Sadly, no yoga today.  And I really needed it! Ha! Is the week over yet?

  1. Oh, god! Is the week over yet, indeed. I thought today was Thursday! And I have to take short lunches this week to make up some time I'll miss on Saturday. Ugh. But enough about me...
    How soon do you eat after drinking the detox drink?
    I am branching out into eating cereal, I think!! The Blueberry Kashi looks really good, and I believe I have a coupon...
    You can tell how rich that risotto is! It's supposed to be, though. Funny how the mushrooms turned purplish.
    And I love Indian peas cooked like that. Looks really tasty.
    Hopefully the rest of the week speeds by...

    1. Welp, today is Thursday - and it feels like forever since Tuesday. Longest. Week. Ever. But the question is: where will you go on Saturday, and what fun will you have?!

      I eat pretty soon after drinking, perhaps about 15 minutes afterwards? It's not the most pleasant drink, but it does make me feel better and more in tune with my body during the day.

      I think the hue you're seeing is from the 45+ minutes the mushroom and barley spend together on the stove!

  2. I started eating healthier yesterday (!) and I feel better already! Maybe it's psychosomatic (or just psycho), but I believe it! We'll see since I'll probably throw it all away come the weekend.

  3. Grains aren't necessarily a bad thing!! And it's not like you cram processed crap grains in your face all day. I think your meals look great! I don't eat cereal often but that Kashi Blueberry cereal is my all time favorite. So good with unsweetened vanilla almond milk :) The risotto sounds yummy too. Carrots are my all time favorite raw veggie and I eat them as a side dish all the time. I'm surprised I'm not orange ;) Coconut rice sounds soooooo good and see, you had salad! :)

    Sigh, I wish the week was over. My days feel so long now.

    1. I agree! And at least there was a wide variety of grains! I definitely believe the Indian food hot bar was the highlight of the day. Yum!

      This week has been soooooo long! Ugh! I'm ready for the weekend, and then some!
