Spooning

1st Spoon: Oat Bran with Maple Syrup

Spooned by proxy (left my fork at home, work only had plastic spoons)
Cauliflower mash under the Mushroom Gravy, Shredded Brussel Sprouts & Collards.

Spooned into my mouth:

Not spooned: popcorn and Vinyasa Flow.

Evening spooning: Tomato Coconut Curry Soup
And a grilled Daiya quesadilla - as recommended by the author of the soup recipe.

Tonight, I am double spooning canines - Remy, and my neighbor's dog Frankie:
Every once in a while when one of us is busy, the other hangs out with the dogs. Last week Remy was over there while I was at the yoga/cycle studio, and now we are returning the favor!  Frankie is such a good snuggler, and Remy does well with him.  Additionally, I have a living heater on either side of me - perfect for withstanding the -13 degree windchill that tries to seep in through the windows.

  1. haha, aw! Hi Frankie! Everytime I try to cuddle Haxan she gets up and moves, haha. No help there. The tomato curry soup sounds delicious.
Yr post for some reason reminds me of this What I Eat book, of everything people all over the world eat in a day and one is of a famous chef who eats his regular meals but also an allotment of "tastes" of the food he cooks - an extra 23 spoonful sips of various meals a day or something!
Funny you were lunch marooned with only a spoon- I've been in similar situations.

    1. He's much more tolerant of the camera than Remy, but he does love a good snuggle. I'll have to check out that book! It sounds like such a cool idea. And yes, the cardinal sin of tasting everything as you cook has been out of my routine for years!

  2. Awww Frankie!! How adorable! I would totally love all of the cuddles and I bet you are all warm and snuggly with those two cuties around. Such a cute pic. -13 degrees is not adorable though. I just shoveled the heaviest snow ever. I'm so sore haha, the best workout I've had in a while is this three day in a row shovelfest.

I love the title of this post :) Your meals look fantastic, I'm especially loving that lunch. All of my favorites in one meal, it looks really incredible. I can see mushing it all around and gobbling it up with a spoon. Dinner is the ultimate comfort meal, which I'm sure is perfect in that frigid weather you are experiencing. Definitely an enviable food day topped off with snuggles from the pups. Can't get better than that!

    1. Yesterday it was -13 without windchill. Fun! It's -6 right now. It totally sucks. If my ears aren't covered, they ache from the cold. I'll take your snow, if you'll take my freezing temps! ;)

It only made sense to call it as such! I've been having a lot of spoonable meals lately.

  3. Frankie is such a cute little guy. It's got to be a lot of fun to have them both! Pretty awesome that you and your neighbor have that arrangement, too.

The tomato soup & quesadilla sound perfect. It's been a long time since I had that kind of combo but I really love it.

    1. It's great to have people you can lean on! And the quesadilla just might trump the grilled cheese in future soup accompaniment. So good!

    1. When Remy jumped on the couch pillow behind Remy, I tried to get a picture but Frankie had his ears back, as though annoyed, so I didn't do it. Ha ha!
