Bright Weekend

With the exception of today's bitter cold and grey skies, it has been sunny and beautiful:
 Breakfast Burrito:
 Carrot Apple Ginger Juice
The last of the Tomato Coconut Curry Soup
Olympic watching and cooking for the week:
During the Opening Ceremony, I made Moscow Mules for a friend and myself.  Did you watch, and are you watching any of the sports? I like Alpine Skiing, Luge, and Speed Skating.  See you on Tuesday!

  1. That first picture is so gorgeous! It looks so peaceful and serene, although I know it's cold. Really lovely shot.

Great looking meals as always! Definitely been craving a breakfast burrito lately since I've been seeing so many great looking ones in the blogosphere. I still need to try a tofu scramble with tofutti too. That sounds so good. The juice and soup sound great, and the colors are so pretty. Don't you love eating beautiful, colorful food?

Can't wait to see what comes out of your kitchen. For some reason I'm not into the winter olympics so much. If I caught the snowboarding I'd watch it but I'm not watching out for it. I'm also so grossed out by what I've heard about the conditions in Sochi it makes it really hard for me to want to tune in.

    Hope your Monday goes quickly!

    1. Thank you, Sarah! The wonders of an iphone camera! On this particular day (Saturday), it was actually in the 40s, very pleasant. The last couple of days haven't been great, but we're heading towards the 50s by the end of the week! Woo hoo!

That was the last of my tofu, so I will look on longingly as you make a scramble! I should not be lacking in my food colors, that's for certain! ;)

Yes, I think Sochi has been the little town that couldn't. I feel bad for the competitors, as they are the actual "world's best"! I'm still enjoying most of the sports, but I won't be booking a ticket any time soon. Ha!

  2. Woah! The sky pic looks like something Molly would do. Very impressive.

Look at all those interesting ingredients. I can't imagine what you're planning. Caldo Verde?

I haven't watched the actual Olympics, just read the news about how bad Sochi is at hosting them.

    1. I've heard a little about the conditions, most of it comical! Poor Sochi, they just were not ready for the demands of the Olympics - like running water and habitable rooms!

You've already heard about the grand finale, but in the meantime, I'm just trying to make different things and stuff myself with vegetables. Still a lot of sickness around these parts.

Thank you! The landscape made for a great model. ;)

    2. I'd be willing to pay for a Sochi dog to be flown to the States. Yet, I'm also impressed there has been no request for donations from the folks helping rescue those poor pups.

  3. What an amazing landscape in your first picture - so beautiful!
I'm not a huge fan of the winter olympics, though I can be tempted to watch a bit of snowboarding or skating if pressed. I'll watch anything with a Moscow Mule though!
