Warm Food & Yoga

Oat Bran with brown sugar, Earl Grey Tea
Steamed kale and boiled potato tossed in avocado sauce.
Appetite for Reduction's Braised Cabbage with Seitan over brown rice

This week's workout schedule is yoga heavy:
Sunday - Rest
Monday - Align & Flow
Tuesday - Yin
Wednesday - RideTRX
Thursday - Gentle Vinyasa
Friday - Rest
Saturday - YogaCycle

Lastly, previously unbeknownst to me, Remy's groomer takes Sunday appointments.  Here's the handsome boy:

Will I stay up until 11pm to watch all of Downton Abbey tonight? Will I have only two pieces of dark chocolate tonight? These are my current concerns since I was a good teacher, and finished all my planning before leaving work on Friday. ;)  See you on Tuesday!

  1. Wow, that photo up top does that simple breakfast extreme justice! Remy looks good enough to woo Shenandoah's Molly. Have the chocolate!

    1. I'm all about oat bran right now! I'm sure Remy would be up for it, I'll pack him in the car right now! ;)

    1. And now he can see! That's really what the quarterly haircut is mostly about - vision!

Are you ready - I Googled it (because all I know is that it's a nice break from oatmeal, in both texture and flavor). . . "Oat bran is the outer husk of the oat grain. The bran of grain is normally discarded during the milling process, which is unfortunate, since it contains the bulk of the dietary fiber of the grain, along with a large amount of useful minerals."

  3. Aww sweet Remy!!! It's been a while since we've seen that handsome boy. I'm sure he was a nice source of love and snuggles for you while you were sick. I'm curious about the oat bran too, I've never had it. Your salad looks delicious and the AFR meal looks yummy as well! I agree with blessedmama, go for the chocolate ;) Good for you for planning everything in advance... I'm sure you made the most of your weekend that way!

    Hope you're feeling better!

    1. See my comment to Maud for the Oat Bran explanation!

Kale and cabbage are nice wintery foods, and I'm stuffing them in lately! Ha ha! Avocados turn so quickly, I felt the need to make the sauce after using it in the sushi rolls.

Remy has been a great little snuggler! He's still not happy about me being back to work, but he's adjusting. ;)

Thank you, I think I'm finally back to feeling well!

  4. Lots of good roughage there. Interesting how the groomer kept Remy's tail long. Do you stay and keep him company during his appointment?

I have episodes 1 & 2 of Downton Abbey saved on the DVR. Are you watching Juan Pablo? He's got some unique suitor's vying for him. Why they want him, I don't know.

    1. I've tried a few different groomers over the years, and only once have they cut his tail - I'm guessing they are following his Havanese and Bichon style guide? Ha ha! ;)

I can't wait to hear what you think about Downton! Watch them soon!!!

Ugh, Juan Pablo is less than interesting, but I don't have cable - so my options are limited. Ha!

  5. Aw, Remy, looking so handsome!

I hope you're feeling all better! If you do decide to look into migraines, feverfew helped me tremendously. It took about a month to really work but made such a huge difference.

    1. Remy says "thank you!" and I completely agree! :)

I've written down your suggestion - thank you! Headaches just stop me from doing so much, it would be nice to have a handle on them.
