Three Day Highlights

Thanks to Dr. King, there was an extra day to the weekend.  Today is meant to be spent in service to others, and while I could have done it elsewhere - I worked (less than two hours) at the studio, handling the front desk: the owner lost her voice as a result of teacher training over the weekend.   Outside of that "service", here are some highlights from the last three days. . .

I'll see you on Thursday with a double post (content from two days)!

  1. Oh man! Those chocolate clusters look PRETTY great. As does the lasagna. Nice job.
Very pretty snowflake projections too. Glad you had the day off!

    1. I have to only buy a few of those almond clusters at a time - they don't last long! Ha ha! The projections are all over the Performing Arts theaters, really beautiful.

  3. Ooooh I like everything I'm seeing here! I hope you enjoyed your three day weekend :) It certainly looks like you were productive. Beautiful haul, great looking produce!

All of your meals look fantastic! The burrito is particularly delicious looking. I haven't had a breakfast burrito in so long and yours looks fantastic. The lasagna is lovely too and oh man the chocolate clusters! Count me in for those, yum!

How was the play?! Show? I don't know what it's considered haha but I remember you getting the ticket for the holidays :) I feel like that would be the perfect place to enjoy some cocktails or wine or whatever boozy beverage you choose. The snowflakes look so pretty on the side of the building. Can I trade those for the crappy real snowflakes completely blanketing our streets again? ;)

    1. It was wonderful, even though I could have used a little more sleeping! Ha ha! I've been dying to have a good breakfast burrito - I keep talking myself out of adding more ingredients, but I think I'm going to do it anyway.

It was a play with interactive comedy (they came off the stage a few times and put some ladies on the spot - all in good fun!). I know that a couple of the gals saw it before, and said it was the same. I'm not the type of person to re-read books or watch a movie multiple times (unless it is a Jane Austen movie, The Devil Wears Prada, The Holiday. . .), so I wouldn't see it again, but it was really funny. There were times when I did the "silent laugh" because I was laughing so hard. ;)

It's snowing here right now, so I feel your pain!

  4. Excellent post! I didn't know that MLK day was supposed to be in service of others, so you were in service of me by telling me that.

The Burrito is exactly the way I like it and I want the recipe for that Lasagna. While you're at it, identify those girly cocktails.

    1. I only learned about the service aspect a year ago, so that must have happened in school after we graduated!

Steamed kale, Happy Herbivore Tofu Ricotta (sans lemon juice), lasagna noodles, and garlic based tomato sauce. Layer and follow baking temperature and time from noodle box.

You'll love this: the drink is called "Pink Panties". HA! (Champagne and Raspberry Liqueur).

    2. P.S. Season the kale - I did not, and it should have been. Would probably use a little sea salt or Old Bay next time.

    3. Thanks for the recipe. I need a Lasagna.

  5. Great looking meals lately! I love how many greens you have in the lasagna there, and girly drinks look fabulous! Your cereal reminds me how i would make hot grape nuts- just steeped in hot milk, very wintery comforting breakfast.
Those dk chocolate nut clusters are sooooo good-looks like those have the whole almond in there!

    1. It's all about the kale! Ooh, such a good idea - and now that I have "Nutty Nuggets" (Kroger version of Grape Nuts), I should try it!!

It is the entire almond, and they are sooooo good.

  6. Yep, some really good-looking dinners there. Lasagna with kale = fabulous idea. Also, breakfast burritos can never be wrong. The fact that I don't eat them every breakfast is down to pure laziness!

    1. Hi Joey! I'm considering moving the breakfast burrito to dinner, just to jazz things up. ;)
