Get Ready

How many pictures of Nutty Nuggets (Kroger Brand of "Grape Nuts") and almond milk can I subject you to? How about one more?

Lunch via Whole Foods:
 Up close:

Orange, followed by Gentle Vinyasa.

Dinner: Appetite for Reduction's Shredded Brussel Sprouts (I added collard greens, also in the recipe: onion and garlic), cauliflower mash (spices, unsweetened almond milk), Everyday Happy Herbivore's Miso Gravy.

A large snow storm moved in slowly today, and finally started its downpour during my yoga class. The mountains are expecting two to three feet of snow, and we're expected to get four to eight inches in the city.  I would rather not have a snow day (I know! What am I saying?!) because we have a lot going on tomorrow...  I guess the good news is: Denver is not Atlanta, and we are always prepared.  ;)

  1. Oooh I'll never get sick of the Grape Nuts! And I like the name Nutty Nuggets even better, ha!! That WFs meal looks really great, I don't think I've ever seen a wrap/salad combo like that. Both look really fresh and delicious, what a great find and a great choice! I'm definitely jealous of that meal.

Hooray for cauliflower mash and I love the addition of gravy. Looks so creamy and yummy and I definitely think I need to try that brussels sprouts recipe. It looks amazing.

NOOOOOO MOOOOOORE SNOOOOW. So annoying! I guess the bright side is at least you won't be seeing 2-3 feet? Is that the bright side? Stay warm and safe!!!

    1. They occasionally offer the wrap and salad combo, which is really nice if two wraps isn't sounding good. I added the pepitas, as I didn't find the salad particularly fantastic. ;)

I'm so glad I tried the cauliflower mash! I bought the biggest bag of brussel sprouts, so you'll be seeing them again. Ha!

No snow day, thankfully! But the weather continues to be difficult, and will do so throughout the next week. It's exhausting how often I have to dig out and clean off my car. Ha!

    2. Oh, thanks for clarifying why the Lentils were so huge.

  2. Oddly, Grape Nuts seems like a warm weather cereal to me. I'll get back to that in a few months.

Wish our local WFs had a prepared lunch pack like that. The Lentils look so fat.

The D.C. area is just like Atlanta: 2 inches of snow and we shut down.

    1. Fruit for breakfast and smoothies are my warm weather favorites! I had pancakes this morning, if that sounds a little warmer to you! ;)

Those are pepitas - not lentils, and they were my addition to the salad. It needed a little crunch. I'm glad this WF offers something different with their wrap. If only they'd offer soup, as well. . .

Ha ha! I know! Such lightweights.

  3. The cauli mash sounds so great. I remember loving it a couple years ago but it's been a while since I've had it. I saw a recipe yesterday for cauliflower mash mixed with cooked millet that sounded really good too. It's about 50* today but once it cools down again, that sounds like a perfect side dish.

    1. Cauliflower mash is great, but I think I'd like it with another flavor/crunch. I love raw or roasted, but mash is something I'll have less frequent considering I love potatoes more. ;)

  4. I have the same breakfast for days and days on end.....! Like its just too much thinking before the coffee hits my brain. If it ain't broke and all.....
What clever lunch packaging! The wrap looks like it had some tofu in there? And obviously anything labeled vegan needs greens ;) good call adding your own pepitas in there. I've bought those tall big plastic cup salad shaker things a few times and they were not as thrilling as the salad bar or just making my own.
You have to make this salad with the rest of your sprouts!! Its my new favorite thing. Obvs omit the parm, and i used a lot less oil. And you have to massage the dressing into the greens (what idiots that isn't in the directions!) anyways. Awesomeness.

    1. It was Beyond Meat Chik'n in the wrap; I'm still afraid to buy it in the package since I like it a little but it's not something I'd have everyday. Thank you so much for the link! It sounds so good!

  5. Hooray for anywhere that sells wraps with great big fat "vegan" stickers on. Very few foods can't be improved by extra pepitas!

    1. Cheese or eggs sneaks into so many dishes, I still check the ingredient list!
