12th Day of the 12th Month

Cinnamon Pumpkin Muffins (the last of the bunch)

Happy Herbivore Meatloaf Bites (with BBQ sauce), steamed kale (seasoned and garnished with Tamari Pepitas) for lunch.
Miso Soup with noodles, wakame, and Sriracha.

I ate the apple only 15 minutes before yoga. My practice was definitely uncomfortable! I must stick to an empty stomach or snack much earlier.  There's a good chance that the evening will end with Coconut Nog & Spiced Rum. . .

  1. The muffins still look great. I really ought to revisit the HH cookbook - nice looking bites as well. Those cookies are so good. I've been eating Duane Reade's "oreos" but it just ain't the same...

    1. It's all about the freeze, thaw, heat method with the muffins! I don't normally go for these kinds of treats, but the candy cane oreos are a nice splurge!

  2. Off topic completely, but you should tell us the name of your school so we don't worry when we see these headlines:http://news.yahoo.com/police-respond-shooting-report-colo-school-202855894.html

    1. I appreciate you thinking of me! Just because you never really know who is reading, I'll narrow it down to four: it is a school named after a cardinal direction, within the Denver Public School system. So, if you hear about a North, East, South, or West school in Denver - worry!

It's all so sad. People need to seek help before they think about using a weapon

    2. Thanks. Hopefully, I won't have to remember this info.

  3. I'm with Shen. I'm also with Maud... the muffins look fantastic and I love those candy cane cookies. So great for the holiday season. I'm going to TJs on Monday and I"m hoping they have them so I can pick some up for baking/munching ;)

I know what you mean about yoga with snacks in the belly! NO GOOD! I did that before Bikram Yoga the first time I ever went because no one warned me and I legitimately thought I was going to die lol. Lesson learned!

    1. Same message - just for the sake of not putting all my info out there - it's a school named after a cardinal direction, within Denver city limits. This was in a southwestern suburb. :(

I hope to bake a little, if possible, this weekend. No more food before working out! Hopefully I learned my lesson!

  5. I know what you mean about having to do yoga on an empty stomach. It definitely makes a difference!

The meatloaf bites sound really good, especially with bbq sauce. I just bought some cookies similar to those yesterday. :)

  6. Yes, I hope I've learned my lesson! Ha!

The meatloaf bites are fantastic! It calls for a lot of seasoning, which is probably why they taste so great. ;)
