Quick Weekend

Based on the sunlight in this picture, the heavens above were also excited about the Beet Box Beet Brownie:
Unlike the previous, this brownie was ingested in halves - during the same day. Ha!

As promised, I returned to Native Foods Cafe:
This is their Mini Greens Salad. Not exactly mini in size.  I didn't ask my friend to take a picture of her plate, but she had the Polenta Bites.  They were serving samples of their Native Wellington, which can be ordered for Thanksgiving but neither of us found it amazing. Overly salty.

Here's the workout plan for this week:
Sunday: Rest
Monday: Align & Flow
Tuesday: Ride HIIT followed by Yin Yoga
Wednesday: RideTRX
Thursday: Gentle Vinyasa
Friday: Rest
Saturday: YogaCycle

This weekend zipped right by - I still have so much to do. It's nice that machines wash my clothes and dishes, but why can't there be a machine to clean my house and cook for the week? ;) See you soon!

  1. Whoops, I totally skipped over the final sentence in yr last post! Glad to see the quick return!
maybe the bowl was mini but not the salad - it looks like it's overflowing. The Native Wellington sounds kind of bizarre. Looks like a savory Twinkie. I'm sure you'll make something much more delectable for Thanksgiving.

    1. Ha ha! No worries, I was eager to return! The salad was definitely not small by any standards - I saw the full size salads and they appear to be worthy of two meals or at least a half marathon type appetite. I haven't even thought about what I'll make for Thanksgiving! Time to get on that!

  2. I would love a machine that would clean & cook for me. :)

That salad looks meal sized! How were the polenta bites?

    1. Me, too! Ha ha!

I believe she enjoyed them, but mentioned they were slightly dry. Thanks for your recommendations - I'll try them out!

  3. Yay my computer is fixed and I can finally see your posts again! So exciting about Native Foods! That salad looks amazing and the reuben from the last post looks delicious as well. I'm so incredibly jealous of you, I want one to open up here! I'm not surprised about the salty wellington. I actually find seitan in general to be a little salty which I why I rarely eat it.

I hear ya with the quick weekend. I worked a wedding yesterday so today is my Saturday and Sunday and I ran around getting my computer fixed and buying backup hard drives and whatnot. Whirlwind of a day, sad it's almost over already!

    1. Whew! What a relief, I can only imagine the frustration and computers have come to hold so much for us! Happy to have you here! :)

You're absolutely right about the wellington ingredients. I hope they open a location in NY soon, but meanwhile you have so many other envious spots!

I usually don't mind working, but this week all I want to do is stay home! I'm ready for a stay-cation!

  4. You really like those Beet Brownies. Cuz they taste great or you just think they're healthier than other Beet Box items?

That Salad does look like it would be difficult to keep contained in the bowl. Maybe you were supposed to turn it over onto the big plate?

    1. I've had two and they do seem to be pretty great. If I made a pan of brownies, I'd eat the whole thing - so this is a good alternative! Ha!

You might be right; the salad was a little too big for its bowl!

  5. Shame about the wellington - it looked like it would make a good centre for a big solid roast. Still, that Beet Box brownie doesn't look like it would disappoint!

    1. Back to Tofurky or Field Roast instead! I think maybe it was the gravy that pushed it over the edge. The beet brownie was so good!
