Old & New & Rest

All day today I thought it was Wednesday. I can tell that this is the week before Thanksgiving Break (we're off all next week)!

Over the weekend, I gave into my cold cereal craving by picking up a box of cereal. However, the cereal name indicated an identity crisis:

Pumpkin Curry with steamed cauliflower and peas over brown rice for lunch:
Dinner: Grilled Daiya Sandwich (a visual for those curious as to the slice appearance)
Salad with carrot and a balsamic based dressing (still working out the kinks - will share when perfected)
Remaining half of a mini chocolate bar:

No Yin Yoga tonight as I'm still feeling sore from the deep tissue massage.  I will definitely be in attendance tomorrow night at RideTRX class.

See you on Thursday - there is snow in the forecast!

  1. Great looking stuff! The pumpkin curry and grilled cheese especially. I almost bought one of those chocolate bars today...still kinda wish I had.
I can't believe you are off all next week! Lucky, lucky you. We just get the one day, but it will be nice to split up the work week. Are you seeing the family? Are you making anything?
Were the wheat waffles sweetened? or just like shredded wheat?

    1. The mini bars are the way to go, small enough to not gorge on or forgotten about, half eaten, in the cupboard three months old.

I am ready for it, and I hope you'll be able to get some relaxing in, too!

The cereal reminds me of chex a lot, and just slightly sweetened!

  2. That's awesome that you have all next week off. I'm looking forward to just having Thursday off. :)

A grilled cheese can really hit the spot sometimes. Daiya is really coming out with a lot of variety now!

    1. Daiya has really improved! I had one for dinner tonight again!

I'm ready for all of us to enjoy some time off - and I know you deserve it the most!

  3. I was not expecting the slices to be circular! Is that a weird thing to fixate on? Hahaha sorry I'm a weirdo sometimes (or all the time). The grilled cheese looks really delicious though, such a great classic meal! You definitely can't go wrong with chocolate either! The cereal actually looks really tasty to me, I love that kind of cereal. Great looking meals as always!

How great that you get a whole week off next week! I won't lie, I'm a little jealous but you deserve the break so I'm really stoked for you! What do you have planned for Thanksgiving? Just a few more days til freedom!

    1. Ha ha! I know it's a little weird - which is why I thought to take a picture of the slice! You know what I'm fixated on: there are 11 slices. Why not 12? Or 10? Odd numbers in product distribution is strange. ;)

I am so very excited for a break! It'll just be the immediate family, and I couldn't be happier about it. Small and quiet for once!

  5. You actually grill the grilled cheese. I usually just melt the cheese on bread in the oven. You're way is way more delicious. Would you get that cereal again?

    1. Skillet is way faster than the oven! And tastier, too I'd imagine. ;) Yes, I'd recommend the "waffle" cereal!
