Half Day But Not Half Way

Originally I thought of taking the whole day off, but I went in for a half day.  A mental health day is long overdue! Even though I had two appointments in the afternoon, I appreciate the opportunity to slow things down for a minute.  Next weekend is three days long (thanks, Veterans!), and it can't come soon enough!
Toasted Everything bagel with Tofutti

I left work before lunch and picked up this box of goodies: dolma, hummus, pitas, and falafel.

In between appointments and before spin class:
After a great spin class and a "quieter" yin yoga:

Click your heels three times and say it with me: "there's nothing like the weekend, there's nothing like the weekend". . .

  1. Everything looks light and delicious, especially your lunch.

I'm with you on needing a mental health day. I'm glad you took a half of one! You're lucky that you get a three day weekend. I wish I did!

  3. You do realize that you've had every single one of my favorite foods in one single day and I'm incredibly jealous about it!! The mediterranean lunch platter looks phenomenal! Love the pic of the bagel too, very cool angle.

I know how you feel about willing that weekend to get here. I just told my friend I wish I could just take off the rest of the week. Mental health days are so important. I'm glad that you will be able to enjoy a three day weekend this week! I hope you plan to relax a little ;)

    1. Ha ha! I should have titled it "What Would Sarah Eat"! ;)

It was a long, tough week. Obviously it took every ounce of my strength as I disappeared from Blogger since this post! I am so ready for this long weekend. I hope your weekend arrives quickly!

  4. Great looking food. I've never taken a mental health day on the right day. Like by the time I put in leave for it, the mental problems have passed. oh well.

    1. I rarely take them on the right day, too! Ha! Subs are hard to come by, and luckily a colleague who has a student teacher in her room, and thus was not teaching (she had to observe and critique lessons), offered to cover my afternoon class. I thanked her with a gift card, and thanked myself for not working. ;)

  5. Are yr bagels from TJs too? Or is that not even built yet? Ha, I can't keep track. Not sure I've made the pasta con broccoli from AfR but I did have Isa's pasta with sunflower cheese sauce and broccoli the other night and it was great. A solid combo, for sure.
Here's to the weekend. I hope the halfday helped. my store (and most retail places soon too, probably) are already playing Christmas music!!! So I'm thinking some preventative mental health measures will need to be taken soon too.

    1. No TJ bagels yet! They just announced their opening date: Valentine's Day. The bagel is from a chain grocery store (owned by Kroger). Sunflower cheese?!?! That sounds amazing!!

I bet the half day did help, but my word, it was a long week! Cheers to taking days off! :)
