The Redemption Hike

I don't even need to link back to July's difficult hike, because I know you remember the one of which I speak.  My brother, two canines, and I returned to the scene yesterday.  However, we did the two and a half mile moderate hike that was originally planned on that fateful day.

It's straight up to the summit, thus obviously all downhill when you double back.

We're about two weeks late for the Aspen tree colors, but it was a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon.  It was a bit chilly, in the upper 40s, but still enjoyable.

Tomorrow I have the day off (no, not to celebrate Columbus - just a coincidence that the district gave us the day), so I"ll be back then to talk weekly workouts and food!  Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. Oh yes i DO remember that hike, haha.
I wish I did things like hike with my spare time but instead I look at pictures of other people's hikes. Feh, works for me. The colors are beautiful even on the tail end - ours are just changing now. Surprised at how cold it is by you, though!

    1. I'm ready to explore new areas! It's kind of like movies and books - I like to check out new ones, but occasionally go back and revisit previous! Trees at lower elevations are just starting to turn here, too! I love the reds and golden yellows!

  2. I remember that hike as well.

Still looks like summer out there.

So did you and Bro conjecture at all about your folks going to all those B&Bs in Vermont? I know you did. I know because I still am.

    1. Definitely not summer weather-wise! We've been quite seasonal lately, with temperatures in the 50s and low 60s in the city.

My parents flew in last night, and we had a quick catch up at dinner - seeing a few pictures from their camera. Most amusing is their attempt at photographing themselves.

  3. Oh yes, you are right, we all remember that hike! I'm so glad you got to go back out there and conquer the one you were planning on going on in the first place. It looks like a really lovely day and I love that you called it the redemption hike ;) Looks like a really beautiful trail and I bet it was nice to spend the day with your bro and the pups.

Columbus day or not enjoy your day off tomorrow!! :)

    1. "The Hike that Shouldn't Have Been"! I'm glad we went back, but I'm ready to explore somewhere new altogether.

I have so enjoyed this day off, it has been quite busy but I still have so much still to do!

  5. Well, this sounds like a much more tolerable hike than the last! Everything is really pretty there. We have to get there in the fall sometimes. All of the aspen turning yellow looks so cool!

    1. It was so much better! Fall is short but pretty here, I know you'll enjoy it when you see it. :)

  6. I'm in a weird new universe in Florida where I've forgotten that it's fall. I'm not complaining because the weather has been great - but it does make me a little sentimental to see these changing leaves. :(

    1. My best friend from High School lives in Florida, so I know what you mean about the weather! I might have fall colors, but you have the beach! :)
