Autumnal Foods

It has been more than a few months since I first saw these in the store:
 Giving one a try:
Lunch:
Mini crustless tofu quiches, collards and onions.
Dinner:

Two more things: Gentle Vinyasa was good today, lots of stretching but not as much toning as I like.  Also, I made a quick stop at the grocery store this evening, not remembering that tomorrow is Armageddon it's supposed to snow.  In the mountains. 3,000 feet higher in elevation and 35 highway minutes away from the city.  Apparently, that's close enough and the masses are preparing to hunker down.

If I'm not snowed in, I'll see you this weekend. HA!

  1. Oh no, it's going to snow?! You know what that means? Bread alert! Ha ha! I didn't know people did that sort of thing in Colorado too. So silly. But annoying too when you just need groceries anyway.

What's the verdict on the Gardein breakfast "sammiches?"

    1. Yes it did! And it was in the 30s in the morning and evening - we skipped fall and went straight to winter. Ha ha! Oh my, people definitely freak out when there is a major sporting event (read: every Sunday before the Broncos game) or when there is poor weather.

I'd give them 2 and a half stars out of five. Okay, but not worth a repurchase.

  2. I can't believe it is going to snow already!!! That is insane!! I'm not going to lie, after watching the show "Prospectors" on the Weather Channel (OMG AWESOME SHOW!) a million times I've definitely had my fair share of times I've wanted to just drop everything and move to the mountains in Colorado and dig for gems LOL! Just drop everything and move to the mountains. It gets tempting every time I get stressed or frustrated ;) Have you ever seen the show? Apparently Colorado is amazing for mining gemstones.

OK I'm sorry I just geeked out randomly on your blog, many apologies ;) How did you like the breakfast sandwiches? I tried the Gardein faux sausage patties and found them to be kind of meh. They aren't as savory as I like. Lunch and dinner look phenomenal!! Good luck with the snow! Haha Miss Rachel made me laugh, all of the crazies here in the Northeast clear the shelves of bread and milk if they think it may snow. It's spawned a lot of funny Youtube videos.

    Good luck! Happy Friday!

    1. Yes, it did but it'll be short lived. We're back in the 70s by Monday, and all of next week. We usually have the first seasonal snow in October, but typically it's closer to Halloween. The good news is that it really is just in the mountains. There were flakes in the air off and on all day yesterday, but the ground was too warm and thus it turned into water pretty quickly.

You are welcome here any time! :) I'm sure there are people here who pan for gold and search gemstones!

Please geek out whenever you'd like, I'm happy to hear it! Last night I went with my brother to see "Gravity". If you see it, I'd be curious to hear what you think about it!

I agree with you on the Gardein patties - it really could have been more flavorful. There's only two in a box, so with the second one I might have to add something to it, in order to make it more appealing.

I recall the "milk and bread" video you mentioned! Ha ha! People are ridiculous!

  3. It's so crazy that it's snowing out there. Such dramatic weather lately! Hopefully it bypasses you because it's definitely too early for snow.

I've yet to see those sandwiches in any of the stores here, although they seem to have plenty of other Gardein items. Lunch looks really great!

    1. Very dramatic, indeed! The temperature swings are pretty huge. There were flakes in the air, but nothing to stick.

Super Target is the only place I've seen the wider variety of Gardein - and cheaper than Whole Foods or Sprouts!

  4. How were the sandwiches? Enquiring mind want to know! I love a good bit of convenience food - especially before I've had a chance to have my first coffee!

    1. They are alright, I think with a different faux sausage it would be really tasty!

  5. I just am echoing the above comments: HOW DID YOU LIKE THE SANDWICHESSSSSS??????

    1. I'd give it 2.5 stars out of 5. It's okay though, Gardein has so many other delicious products - these just were not a hit for me! The faux sausage was just so-so.

    2. Interesting verdict. I guess I'd give them a 5 out of ten;-)

  6. You are reminding me that I have collard salad in the fridge to eat... hmmm.
I like that the breakfast sandwich cheese is the same color as the plate it's on.
Hope it doesn't snow. That's wild!

    1. The collards were so good! I'm trying to mix it up this week; I don't want to burn out on them. It was definitely a processed cheese slice! Ha ha!
