Time to Buy a Bike

After breakfast, I met a friend for coffee and chat in a neighborhood I'd only passed through previously.  Apparently, I didn't see the "Street Sweeping Every 4th Thursday" sign a block away. $50 ticket.

Zumba class - she makes us work hard!  Lots of booty shaking and shoulder shimmy going on.

The Rockies had a day game, so I sat in traffic (the Zumba studio is in the same part of town).

Last year, I went to Civic Center Eats a handful of times, but had yet to make it this year. I went and visited the Vegan Van for my favorite:
Planet Rock and Spicy Popcorn.

Almost had an accident (it should have happened - I was honestly blessed it didn't).

Dinner: Kale - Avocado - Potato Salad.

I am now accepting donations for "This Lady Needs to Only Drive a Bike" fund.  ;)

  1. That really stinks about the ticket but I'm glad to hear that you avoided an accident! What kind of bike would you like to get?

Your sandwich looks spectacular. Sounds like you had a very busy day!

    1. Yesterday I should've stayed home! Ha ha! I'd love a cruiser, but that's a few notches down on my spending list. ;)

I'm trying to soak up the time because I know I'll be overwhelmed with work very soon.

  2. $50! What a rip! You need a tag on your car that says 'Teacher', like all the Diplomats in D.C. have immunity.

The rest of the day looks really delicious. Do you eat the Popcorn that comes with the Sandwich? I think I'd save it for another time.

    1. I know. What makes it worse is that I saw the guy pull up to the car behind me, and when I asked if he needed me to move my car - obviously he said yes - so I went in and got my keys. He was still next to my vehicle when I went out, and there was the ticket in my door. I took and walked up to him, "you just talked to me! I'm a teacher! I don't have $50. You just talked to me!" The ass said it was too late, and nothing he could do about it now. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! (My face was in a grimace as I wrote that. Ha ha!)

P.S. Ironically, I ate the popcorn first (still waiting to regain my appetite after Zumba). Then a little later (within the hour) I ate the sandwich.

    2. Woah. That is evil. That cop was on a major power trip.

  3. Yikes! I know all about the car woes. A $50 ticket is total BS and I'm so glad that you avoided the accident. Haha I feel the same way but I'm such an idiot I'd probably get into bike accidents too, haha.

Great looking meals, especially that sandwich! It looks delicious! Glad that Zumba was a great workout for you!

    1. I want to punch the parking ticket guy in the face. See the story above!

Yes, blessings on the potential accident. I've heard about a lot of people getting hit on bikes, so I'd probably be one of those too. Ack! We can't win! ;)

The gal who has taught my last three Zumba class is under five feet tall and is so fast with all of her movements - my heart rate stays up nearly the whole time. I only have one more class with her though, as she is going to Chile to visit her family at the end of next week.

  4. Argh - what total bad luck on the ticket. $50 is a not small beans. Still, at least the rest of your day looks pretty nice - that salad is a trifecta of three of my favourite things! hope the bike turns up sooner rather than later!

    1. I know! At least I was safe in the end - and who knows when a bike will join my family, but hopefully not too off in the future. :)

  5. Yikes, I'm glad you're okay. Stay safe.
As for the ticket, that's really rude. What a jerk. Cops here are just as bad about ticketing bikers, though. I'd like to think it's so we think more about safety, but I think they're just pissed they have fewer cars to ticket. I do support getting a bike, though! How is the Denver alternate transportation scene? Bike lanes/ public transport?
Great looking VV meal. Are those sweet potatoes on a sandwich?

    1. Tofu tossed in wing sauce! I suppose sweet potatoes would also be good. ;)

Colorado is very outdoorsy, so we have a lot of foot traffic and bicyclists. Our commuter rail is still in formation - it'll be awhile, but currently it runs from the southern suburbs to city center.

I really wish I could punch that guy in the face!
