Cycle Sunday

This morning I went to a beginner & intermediate indoor cycle class.  The instructor was very sweet and helpful, and she picked some great music! I'm already wanting to be better at it, and continue trying other classes (tomorrow I'm doing a yogacycle class - 30 minutes of spin, 30 minutes of restorative yoga).  Now if only my pelvis would get used to sitting on a bike. . .  I'm pretty sore. Ha!

Breakfast after class: sunflower whole wheat toast, a couple spoonfuls of pb, and pressed juice.

Lunch: leftover half of a wrap

And store bought kale chips:

Dinner: Chick'n Patty (there's BBQ sauce under there), broccoli.

Summer's dessert:

I hope you've had a great weekend!  I'll be back on Tuesday!

  1. Sounds like a great sunday with some delicious food. PB toast is such a satisfying breakfast. I LOVE spinning and have been doing classes a few times a week for years now- i have a knee that won't tolerate anything high impact. You will get used to the seat after a few classes. It is such an awesome workout and with the right instructor and music it can be a lot of fun too :). Be sure to stretch a lot to reduce soreness the next day- the spin/yoga combo sounds perfect! I bring my chia lemon water to classes with me, quite the conversation starter ;)

    1. Hi! I'm so glad that to hear I'll be more comfortable soon! I only know one gal who teaches spin, but everyone else is afraid to try it. Ha! It's so good to hear such a positive review, and now I know it's only as challenging as you choose it to be. For example, I didn't do much sprinting yesterday because I was uncomfortable sitting at that speed but I did like the "out of the saddle" climbing portion. Sadly, the combo class was overbooked and I didn't get a spot today (nor tomorrow!) but I have a reservation for Wednesday! Chia lemon water sounds interesting!

  2. How great that you tried a spin class! I tried it one time and I liked it but I was SO SORE. Like horrifically sore lol.I would love to try it again though, it's a great workout! The yogacycle class sounds great too, I'm looking forward to hearing about it!

Great looking food as always! The wrap looks delicious and I've been cramming as much watermelon in my face as possible ;) So refreshing!

    1. It's a nice sore in my thighs, but the pelvis bone sore is not so nice. ;) The class was overbooked (big waitlist!), and so is Tuesday - so I'll yogacycle on Wednesday. :)

I have had a serious craving for watermelon! This batch isn't as juicy, but I'll eat it anyway! Ha!

  3. I'd like to try a spin class! The spinning with restorative yoga sounds a little nicer, though. I have a bike but I mostly use it for errands or getting around to nearby neighborhoods but I really ought to utilize it more. You're right though, that seat is kinda uncomfortable.
The food all looks great. You have a lot more juice options than my Whole Foods does.

    1. A friend of mine told me that once you get used to it, you have to regularly have "saddle time" to make sure you don't return to rookie status. Ha ha! I'm sure you would be able to get comfortable in a spin class in no time, with your bike usage!

They can't seem to keep them in stock, and have stopped at the flavors I've shown you. Maybe I'll try a different WF and see if they have a different selection!

  4. I have to admit, after seeing all your yummy food on this post, the watermelon was my favorite. Something about roasting alive in California and looking at a plate of juicy watermelon, makes me want that!

  5. I've never taken a spin class, but I bet it's fun! I used to go biking every morning & would go through the trails, getting all muddy. Just loved it. :)

You ate really well! We just got some watermelon and I'm ready to dig into it. It's hot out!

    1. It was fun! I hope the one I signed up for on Wednesday is just as great. I bet it is all about the energy and music! Morning bike rides on the trails sounds great!

Agreed - all about the watermelon!

    1. Funny enough, the instructor looked a little like you! I didn't realize until later, otherwise I would have mentioned it in this post! :)

  8. I did a couple of spin classes, and apart from the i-think-I'm-going-to-pass-out-ness, I must admit I did enjoy the whole exercise glow afterwards! The kale chips look like a pretty good reward!

    1. I'm enjoying the spin classes so far! It's a great workout! The kale chips are great - still not as good as mine, but that would mean I need to remember to soak some cashews. . . ;)
