Grocery Haul

Greetings! I spent the rest of the week battling nausea off and on, and I was eating pretty bland food half the time, so I thought I'd spare you those posts.  I'm feeling 100% better, and am ready for some flavor once again.  Here's the (mostly) produce haul from today:
Bread, bananas, and berries (organic on sale 2 for $6!)
Cherries and grapes
Kale, spinach, cucumber, green onion, avocado

Earlier this week, when I thought I was going to make it through the day without feeling ill, I took a picture of my breakfast: it looks heaven-sent with the angle of the sunshine!

Happy Weekend, friends!

  1. So glad you are finally feeling 100%. How terrible that it lasted that long. Love the heaven sent berries, very cool pic.

Beautiful looking grocery haul. I love how colorful it is and your fruit looks beautiful. Don't you love cherry season? I've been wanting grapes lately too, I'll need to make that happen. I'm hoping to have a similar looking haul on Monday when I go to the store.

Glad you are feeling better, hope you have a great weekend.

    1. I'm going to go with "it wasn't food poisoning". Thanks for the compliments on the berry photo!

I am so excited for cherries, but so sad that they take a bite out of my wallet - especially these, as I prefer them to the red/

Thinking of you, sweet Sarah, hope you're doing okay. Hugs!

  2. What a strange illness. If anything will make you feel better, it's that gorgeous grocery haul.

    1. I was talking about it with a friend, and she is of the opinion that it was Norovirus, which is what you first suspected. You both are probably correct!

      The produce has been great!

    1. Thanks, Molly! I think I pushed it too far, and exercised a little too much out in the sun (I was pretty badly burned), and that reminded my body to slow down.

I've been putting my digestive system to good work! Ha!

  4. The strawberry picture really is fantastic! Any berries were on sale? We had a one day 2 dollar blueberry sale that I took overadvantage of. For some reason I never grab the strawbs.

    1. I figure we don't have much longer on the berries with the solstice around the corner, and melons turning ripe. Time to enjoy them!

  7. Good to hear you're feeling better. As everyone else agrees, that strawberry picture is beautiful. I am starting to see a lot of berries in the store here now too, and part of the appeal is their beauty.

Also, today is the first day of my favorite farmers' market, and I'm hoping to make it over there for some local delights. :-)
