First Day of Break

\

Long walk with a friend and her one year old, stopped for unsweetened iced tea.
Nibbled on throughout the afternoon while cleaning the house:
After all that cleaning (and I'm still not done! We're talking curtains washed, dusting under the bed and around door frames, et al - the stuff that gets done the least), I didn't want to cook.  Thus, Chipotle:
To prove it's not just guac, lettuce and rice:
I ate about half, and am reserving the rest for tomorrow's lunch.  I hope your Thursday has been pleasant!  See you soon!

  1. I'd say that's a pretty way to welcome your summer break! Your beautiful, vibrant berries are a perfect breakfast and do I even need to mention the yummy bagel ;) I've been enjoying the grapes you inspired me to buy too. I'm going to throw some in the freezer too. Have you ever had frozen grapes? They are a refreshing treat in the summer! Love Chipotle just wish they'd chill out on that gross cilantro. Great looking bite you have there ;)

    1. These berries are especially delicious! I love frozen grapes! I'm going to freeze what I don't eat (along with any other fruit), and I'll enjoy it when I come back from Texas.

I'm totally with you - not a fan of cilantro, which is why I don't get the tomato garnish!

  2. Hurray for break! I'm excited that you're going to Texas so soon, too. Looking forward to those posts!

You started your break off very well! The berries look beautiful and I'm really starting to want to try that bagel, cream cheese and cucumber combo. I've never had that.....

We had Qdoba tonight because it was so busy, but not from cleaning. It's so nice to have healthy, fast options in restaurants!

    1. I'm hoping to be a fraction as good as your vacation posts when I return! I'm outnumbered, as I will be surrounded by carnivores (borderline Paleo for one of them), but hope they'll let me choose a restaurant or let me venture out alone on occasion.

I love that combo on a savory bagel! I hope you try it, and when you do - let me know what you think. :)

I absolutely agree, and I feel like Chipotle / Qdoba are our only truly veg-friendly options!

  3. Nice looking stuff! Grapes are pretty perfect and they look so fresh.
I can't believe what an intense cleaning job yr doing. When's the "break" part of the break?

    1. Ha ha! I'm also trying to minimize and de-clutter, and since I have the time, I feel motivated to get it done. I hope to be finished (deep cleaning) today, and when I'm back from Texas, I'll go through closets and drawers and see what I can donate! That said, I guess my "break" starts on Monday. ;)

    1. It was beyond necessary, and I basically took the day off yesterday so I need to get back to it today! Thank you, I still can't believe summer break is here.

  5. I salute you on the housework - mexican food is a suitable reward for doing all that bobbins!

  6. I can eat half a Cookie or piece of Cake, but only half a Chipotle Veggie Bowl? No, can't stop at half with that thing.

Wish I had the clean gene. I'd just buy new curtains.

    1. Ha! It was also an intentional move on my part - I don't want to have to buy much more before my trip. My fridge is starting to look bare!

The deep clean doesn't happen to often, normally I'm more of a quick dust and vacuum, call it a day - type of person.

    1. Hi Rachel! The deep-cleaning itch must be scratched when it arises - otherwise I'd live in squalor! Ha ha! Not really.
