Graduation, Eats & More

As mentioned in my last post, a lot of family came into town to celebrate my brother's graduation:

A few of my eats over the weekend:  toasted everything bagel with Tofutti, Grilled Tofu & Veggie Bowl from Tokyo Joe's, and tofu spring rolls with peanut sauce.  Apparently, my meals involved all things tofu.

There was also a lot of hummus, crackers, and veggie tray consumption at the open house / graduation gathering at my parents' house.  Remy did a lot of begging and hanging out near the grill.  Occasionally he took time to relax (facing the snack table).

We had really beautiful weather, a little rain here and there - but mostly picturesque.  This is from Friday evening:

I spent today (all morning and into the afternoon) with the whole group - this time celebrating all of the mothers.
The craziness will continue as I am house and dog sitting this week (back and forth between both places most likely), but I will definitely be reading and commenting - my posts might be a little erratic, however.

I hope your weekend has treated you well! See you soon!

  1. That sounds like my kind of school! If you don't mind answering, what degree did your brother earn? It looks like it was a beautiful day, which I'm glad to see. Quite the change from when we went through!

All of your tofu meals sound excellent, especially those rolls.

It sounds like Remy had a great time at the celebration. Do you usually bring him with you to family gatherings? Emma is such an attention hog that we have a hard time doing that with her (she can get very obnoxious).

Have a great time house & dog sitting and Happy Mother's Day to you! You sound like such a great mom to Remy. :)

    1. Traditionally it was a mining school, established in the 1870s. It's now the top engineering school in the state, and he is a Civil Engineer. Other than that, their biggest program is Petroleum Engineering - although they are growing in their environmental responsibility.

I think Remy is tolerable because he's small and likes to be pet as much as he likes to search for food droppings. Ha ha! If we're at my parents house, he's always there. If it's another relative, usually not!

      Thank you! :)

  2. Happy Mother's Day to you! Remy is very lucky to have such a loving mama :)

Your brother's graduation looks like it was a beautiful day! Such an exciting time, I bet he was so ecstatic and you and your family must be so proud :)

The tofu meals look great! I think I'm eying the tofu bowl! It looks so delicious. I love simple meals like that. Super filling and delicious. Doesn't get better than that! Remy is so sweet :) I have Tyler here snuggled up by my legs. I've been babysitting him at my house since yesterday and it's so nice having him around :)

Have fun housesitting! Hope you have a great week!

    1. Awe, thanks Sarah! :)

It was almost too warm (we are left with a sunburn) but it was great, and he tends to be all about business and less social - so having family and friends celebrate him was so good for him!

I rarely ever go to Tokyo Joes, but they do a nice job on their grilled tofu bowls.

Oh, sweet Tyler! What a little love bug!

It'll definitely be a full week - wish me luck! :)

  3. 'School of Mines'?! That is a new one on me. Please let us know what Lil Bro is hoping to become.

Love when pups sprawl out on the cool floor like Remy is doing.

    1. HA! As in miners, mining, ore diggers, engineers. It's the top school in the state (I could have never gotten in) for engineering. It's light on computer engineering, but heavy on civil, mechanical, and petroleum. My brother is a Civil Engineer, and starts his new job the day after Memorial Day!

It's all about the back leg sprawl - so funny!

    2. Okay, I'll pretend I understand what a civil engineer does.

    1. It's all about being an engineer - it took me about eight months to find a job as a teacher. Luckily, I was still waiting tables at the time. *sigh*
