Slow Saturday

I didn't do much, but I think a relaxing day was in order! I made the decision to skip my Tone It Up workout for today after a visit to the chiropractor (my hip was really out of whack - so took it easy today), and will get back to the gym tomorrow.  Interestingly, she suggested that I check out Pilates for strength and flexibility.

Strawberries & Kombucha:
Burrito bowl from Chipotle, but only guacamole and lettuce.
Just kidding:
Oven roasted in a teaspoon of olive oil and black pepper - asparagus and medium red potato.
Back to productivity tomorrow. :)


  1. Have you ever done Pilates before? I used to and really liked it, but now I'm in love with yoga. They're both so great for strength and flexibility!

    I finally found some organic strawberries that were from the US today. They're so delicious!

    lol, that bowl does look like it only has lettuce & huac! We thought we'd finally get to eat a Chipotle on our trip but changed our plans a bit, so that's not going to happen (we were staying a night in Silverthorne but switched to Gunnison now). Someday we will eat there! The bowls always look so delicious.

    2. I have not done pilates, and there are plenty of studios around me - so I have no excuses, other than I have more moments of trepidation about trying a new form of exercise than I have guts. I'm working on it. ;)

      It is definitely difficult to find local or even US produce right now! A lot from Mexico is what I'm finding. Speaking of which, I have three avocados (probably from there) which need eating so you might see more guac or avo sauce!

      I don't think I've made it to Gunnison, maybe just passed by years ago. Old family friends lived there for some time and always spoke highly of it! I hope the weather cooperates and your trip is amazing!

  2. Glad you were able to get an adjustment! I hope you are feeling better!! I'm making a commitment to myself to get back to the gym regularly when I get back from vacation. I really need to stop being so lazy. I think pilates or yoga will really help! I like to do yoga because it really opens my hips and shoulders which are the two areas I have to most pain and problems with. I definitely recommend yoga! You can watch free videos on youtube or itunes!

    Those strawberries look delicious! I'm incredibly jealous of that gorgeous bowl of berries! Haha yay for Chipotle! You made me laugh with the just kidding. I love the pic of the fork, it looks so yummy! Great looking dinner too!

    1. I hadn't been since early February! Ack! I am feeling good, but I can tell I still need that other adjustment. I must remind myself to do that this week!

      I definitely don't think you're being lazy! You've been unwell and working a lot! I've tried some videos on YouTube, but there's something about the community of a class that always makes me work harder. I'll have to get with it!

      Ha ha! Happy to make you giggle. I considered deleting the first shot, but then I thought it would be a little funny.

      I don't want the weekend to be over! Aaah!

  3. Asparagus season is almost here in the UK. I could inhale that stuff by the pound.

    I gave pilates a go a while back and enjoyed it - it felt like proper exercise without all the sweating! Hope your hip's getting better!

    1. Asparagus is so good, I bought another bunch this weekend (already ate half!).

      That's what it sounds like to me; all work and stretch without the impact. I definitely need to check it out. Thank you!

  5. Um, a bowl of lettuce and guac sounds kind of awesome....! I have also been roasting and eating loads of asparagus lately.
    Pilates is really amazing- especially on the machines (some gyms offer "matt classes") it really works your core muscles and it really helped me with my cranky back problems. I hope your snow is finally gone for good!

  6. The potato is very white, haha! I like it. I ate a lot of asparagus last week, I'm glad it's back in season. The white asparagus freaks me out though.
    I really want to get into yoga and/or hips have been really hurting lately too, and it's supposed to be so good for you. I much prefer low impact exercise anyway. Where would you/do you go for those sorts of things anyway?
