Spring Break Sunday

Breakfast toast was heavy on the 'naner.
Info on the bread:
In between the banana and bread:
It took me about 15 minutes to dig out, but when I did - I made two stops, one of which was Whole Foods.  I picked up a new flavor of freshly squeezed? pulverized? pressed? juice:
So amazingly delicious. If you have a juicer, please try it!
Also, I picked up lunch:

I was really quite impressed with them today.  Very good.
More snow in the later afternoon. *sigh*
Leftovers from last night. More yumminess.
I am pretty excited about not going to work tomorrow.  My plans for this week include my usual number of posts, but they'll be filled with more pictures. Hopefully, I will do /go to exciting or interesting things, and not have to show you how I cleaned out my linen closet and filed my taxes.

  1. Oh, a green chile tamale sounds excellent! You had a really healthy food day, and colorful too.

I would be pretty excited about not having to go to work, too. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store for the week! Enjoy!!

    1. Yes, it was! I need to learn how to make tamales myself.

So far, the frigid temperatures are putting a damper on much outdoor activity, so I might have to wait until later in the week to wander around.

  2. How was the cashew butter? I have tried it but it didn't pack as much flavor as I had hoped so I've stuck with almond and peanut butter since then. Of course, the cashew butter I had was probably not raw and maybe raw has more flavor - ?

    Mmm... tamales. Yum!

Enjoy your spring break. One thing about spring snow is it usually seems to melt fast, right? Make way for daffodils!

    1. It was pretty mild, I think I like the walnut flavor better (overall winner is still peanut butter). The tamales were really delicious! I need to figure out how to make them.

The snow is melting somewhat quickly; the sunshine has really helped but the temperatures have been so low that shaded areas haven't melted in the slightest!

  3. I want alla this! So are there whole sunflower seeds in the bread? Or are they ground into the wheat? Sorry to grill you about the bread, I just love sunflower products, haha.
The juice sounds delicious. Juices usually are. And the tamale looks great too! I'm not sure I've ever had one before.

    1. Ha ha! No worries, I like it because the slices are generous, the taste is great, and it is naturally low calories (60 per slice). There must be some ground in there, but yes, there is also a small amount of whole sunflower seeds in each slice.

We need to send you and Sarah some tamales, immediately!

  4. Ooooh what great meals! The toast with nut butter and banana looks like perfection! Beautiful juice too, sounds like a great combo! I'll definitely have to give that a try. You know I'm jealous of your tamales, they always look so good and the leftovers look just as great as it did the first time around!

Hope the snow stays away for the rest of your break!

    1. It is such an addictive breakfast, that I didn't buy more bananas this week on purpose - I'd eat way too much nut butter! Ha!

The juice combo is fantastic. The kale and carrot is good, not great. I drink it for the health benefits. I'd drink this combo of apple, celery, and kale for taste alone!

Thank you, I think it's finished snowing. The next system at the end of the week is supposed bring rain and we'll be almost 60 degrees - I can handle that! :)

  5. Not going to work? Nice! Jealous! Here it's just freezing, without even the compensation of a good snowball fight!

I'm feeling the tamales. Are they hard to make at home (at least til Whole Foods do transatlantic takeout...)

    1. The tamales would be laborious to be sure. Which is mainly the reason why I haven't made them myself. ;)
