Recovery

I'm fairly certain I had food poisoning from going out to eat on Friday night.  Yesterday was not very much fun.  Today I took it easy at the start, and tried to pump my system full of vitamins.  I started the day with a Vega Vanilla, frozen banana, fresh orange, and almond milk smoothie.
Running errands, I picked up tofu spring rolls. . .
And a carrot-apple-ginger juice.
I did some cooking for the week, and made myself a plate for dinner:
Green beans and Appetite for Reduction's Braised Cabbage with Seitan.
I'm hoping to feel 100% tomorrow, and to post a little more this week - it's slightly less busy, so that should be possible!  Hope you have had a great weekend!

  1. Oh no. Food poisoning? :( That really stinks, especially on a weekend. You certainly had a great day of eating, though. Those spring rolls! I could eat them every day!

I hope you do feel 100% tomorrow!

    1. It's the only thing that makes sense for my symptoms, and yes, it certainly made my weekend feel extra short. Re-do, please!

Thank you, I am nearly there.

  2. Oh no! Yeesh, I've never had food poisoning but I've heard it's horrible. Hope you feel better soon.
The smoothie looks fantastic though. So smooth and creamy. I've never actually put an orange in a smoothie that I can remember but it sounds delicious.

    1. Just think about stomach cramps and nausea, and that's it!

The smoothie was quite good - it's like fresh orange juice.

  3. Yikes, food poisoning?! That sounds horrible, I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well! I hope that you feel 100% tomorrow too.

Looks like you did pretty well with your food today though! That smoothie looks gorgeous! I'm going to have to try orange in my smoothies because that sounds delicious! I bet the ginger in the juice helped a little. Ginger is great for tummy troubles. Have you tried drinking some ginger tea? Great looking spring rolls and that cabbage and seitan looks amazing!

Hopefully you will feel as good as new tomorrow!

    1. I am almost there, thank you!

Ginger was definitely on my "to-do" list yesterday, and I think it helped! Ginger tea would be really good. The cabbage and seitan is really delicious!

  5. Nasty - food poisoning is just so not good. I've managed to get it twice this year and I've got no idea how. Still, it looks like you're stocking up on all the sort of food your body needs when you're poorly - get well soon!

  6. What do you think gave you food poisoning? Food poisoning is so horrible and most often you don't even lose weight afterwards.

    1. I went out to eat and had a Tofu Veggie Bowl. It's the only thing that makes sense, as in the morning I made a waffle at home and almost immediately felt ill. I've used the same ingredients time and again at home, so it couldn't have been them right? Ha ha! No weight loss, just appetite loss. ;)

  7. A Tofu Veggie Bowl? Bummer. Maybe there were Sprouts in it?
