π Day

Blueberry Muffin Smoothie (a little on the thin side, but still good!).
Leftover salad rolls and veggies, all dipped in peanut sauce.
Dinner - well, I didn't cook again.  But I have great excuses: it was 70 degrees outside, and I had a craving:
And in honor of Pi Day, I picked up a pie (ok, it was a tart).
I was finally able to mimic Shen, and only eat half.
Mostly because it was really, really tart.  A tart tart.

  1. Pi day! Yes! I have yet to get my hands on a Pi, but it's on my list

That tart tart looks pretty good - was its tarness unsalvageable, or did you get to have the other half later on?

    1. Pi day, really is all about pie for me. I should have more pie.

I ate the other half yesterday! It is quite tart, but in the "I have to eat this slowly" kind of way. ;)

  2. I didn't even think of it being Pi day. I love that you picked up a pie (tart) for it! :)
Persian lime sounds like a great flavor and I probably wouldn't have been able to stop at half. I love tart stuff.

Lucky you that it was 70 degrees out!! We're still swimming in the 20's & 30's here. Ugh!

    1. Our math teachers are quick to point out that Pi Day is upon us. Ha!

The tart was pretty good, but surprisingly eating it one half at a time was worth it!

Yesterday we spent the day touring a college campus downtown, and I am sunburned. Today, it's 30 degrees cooler. Gotta love the weather changes!

  3. Summer food already?! (I still have the rest of my tart tart in the fridge. I hate to waste food so there it will sit).

    1. I ate the other half of the lime tart yesterday. Maybe drown it in soy whip? It was chocolate mint? I haven't seen that variety, but will steer clear of it. :)

  4. Yay for pi day! I can't believe it was 70 degrees there, I'm SO jealous! It's been freezing here the past few days, I'll have to live vicariously through you!

Great looking meals today! Hooray for the return of the blueberry muffin smoothie. It's so good, yum! Yours looks so pretty. Great looking lunch, lots of fresh veggies going on. Mmm a bagel is a perfect dinner for a warmish day. Looks so good. That tart looks so great and I'm impressed by your restraint. It looks too good for restraint, ha!

    1. We had a really nice week, and now it is acting a little more like early spring (45-55 degrees all weekend). Yesterday it was 76 degrees, and I sunburned my forehead, nose, lips, and collar bone area thanks to an entire day outside with the students. Arg!

It is a dangerously delicious combination - that bagel / Tofutti / cucumber meal! My restraint is a work in progress. :)

also, Ingrid, everything looks delicious although I can't imagine what 70* feels like. I still have yet to try that smoothie....

  6. Re dinner: I'm all in favor of not cooking to satisfy a craving. Sounds like a win-win to me. :-)

Pi Day / Pie Day - ha ha! My sister's workplace had a pie party of some sort in honor of the day. I had a chocolate Hail Merry Miracle Tart once, and it was OK, but not great and also very expensive. I appreciate what the company does, but I'd just as soon have my desserts cooked and gluten-y (hence, all the cookies I make).

    Happy weekend to you!

    1. Thanks, Rachel! I hope your weekend is going well.

I absolutely agree - it was good, not great and I only purchased it due to a $3 sale price! I think normally it was $4 and change. I need to try to make a vanilla cupcake, perhaps a half batch, and freeze them that I might have one on demand!
