Fluffy pancake for one, maple syrup. (It's all about the baking soda.)
Our four inches of snow from Wednesday / Thursday were nearly all melted, allowing this soy latte to be photographed outside.

The best birthday surprise package ever:

Sarah blessed me with almond oatmeal cookies (so good, I've already had four), a beautiful mug and birthday card! So sweet!
Remy spent some time supervising the yard:

Snack time (Remy had some, too):

Overnight Saturday into Sunday, it began -and in the morning looked like this:

It recently stopped, and I measured 8 inches in the backyard. Can't wait to try to go to work in the morning!

Thus, warm meals were had - avocado pasta (although it doesn't look particularly green),

Chapati (unleavened Indian flatbread), garlic hummus, saag, and homemade yellow curry.
I love the weekend.
What a great birthday present! Sarah rocks. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat weekend eats you had, especially that fluffy pancake. Remy is so adorable. Does he like to monitor the yard a lot? Emma does that all the time and can drive us a bit crazy with it (she's very reactive).
It looks like the snow is headed our way. Although, ours doesn't melt like yours does, usually. We still have quite a bit left from last time.
Yes, she does rock! I feel so lucky!
DeleteIt has taken me many a pancake to get a little rise out of the pancake. It's almost there, and once it is perfect - I'll share the recipe! Remy's favorite spots are near windows (while perched on the chair) or looking out a door. He's usually just a watcher, but will growl at people wearing hats. He has a hat fear. ;)
It seems like every storm that leaves here ends up crippling the states to east. I hope it's not too bad your way!
Oh man, looks like a great weekend (minus the snow, even though it's pretty!)! You enjoyed some beautiful meals and that fluffy pancake and Starbucks look particularly enticing ;) I LOVE that picture of Remy, he is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to try a raw version of Angela's avocado pasta with zucchini pasta and your other dinner looks delicious too! I bet that warmed you up!
I'm so glad you liked your gift! And I love the weekend too ;)
Thank you again, I love all of it!
DeleteOooh, I'd love to see the avocado sauce on zucchini pasta, or even butternut squash. Can you do squash? I am trying to learn how to make a proper yellow curry, and this was pretty good.
Remy says: "Aw, thanks!".
Oh, the avocado pasta, while not particularly green, looks especially appetizing this time around.
ReplyDeleteApples and PB is a pretty perfect snack. I've been doing that recently too.
And lucky you with the birthday present! I bet they're delicious.
It was quite good, perhaps it was the angel hair pasta rather than spaghetti noodle that makes it more appealing? I think I'll have apple and pb for breakfast tomorrow. . .
DeleteYes, so good! I'm afraid the cookies won't last much longer. :)
How did you make the avocado pasta? I've never heard of that! And the homemade curry looks fabulous!

Okay, so you got Cookies too. Now I know what that burning jealousy feels like. Did your's have Raisins? Mine did. Anyway, impressive Pancake.
ReplyDeleteNo raisins! I believe they were the original recipe she posted. The pancake is close to being post-worthy. ;)
DeleteSo it's baking *soda* for fluffy pancakes, huh? I find that baking *powder* is what makes cookies and muffins rise. Interesting. What a nice gift from Vava. All the food here looks so good, and I love the shot of Remy!
ReplyDeleteHmm. . .will try a round with powder to see if the same happens. I'm also aiming for "light" with the "fluffy", which I'm close to - but not quite.
DeleteRemy, although in need of a haircut, does agree. ;)
