A Bit of Color

First, a photo I meant to post yesterday:
Stained glass window inside an engineering building on the Colorado School of Mines campus.  I was there very briefly yesterday, and appreciated this four story window in the entry.

Breakfast today: Grape Nuts with almond milk
Taken to work for lunch: carrot ginger soup, unsalted saltines, apple.
When I arrived home from work, I had an early dinner appetizer in the form of a mixed green salad with walnuts and pomegranate dressing.
Nice pants and slipper in the background (yes, I wear slippers or socks around the house - leave your shoes at the door).  Ha!

Dinner:  Avocado pasta using angel hair.
That's all for today, friends - see you Thursday!

  1. I love the stained glass window! So, so pretty. It always reminds me of my dad because making stained glass art was a hobby of his for a while when I was a kid. :)

Is the pomegranate dressing one you bought or made? It sounds really good! I also wear socks around the house. I'd go barefoot all of the time if I could.

It was an all around delicious looking day for you! The pasta looks really creamy. Mmmmm........

    1. Yes, it is beautiful! What a great hobby to enjoy.

It was Annie's, but I do intend to make homemade dressing once I've finished all of my stock.

Barefoot in the summer, and socks or slippers the rest of the year. :)

  2. Beautiful photo of the stained glass window! 4 stories, that's amazing! I love the way the light is coming through it :)

Your lunch looks perfect! I love pairing an apple or fruit with my meals. Well I did, too bad I have to cut it down for a while. Wah! I'll have to live vicariously through you :) At least it's not during the summer! Anyway, your soup looks so pretty, suck vibrant meals today!

The salad is a perfect appetizer for your dinner. Lots of green in that meal, yum! Pomegranate dressing sounds really good too. I'm with you and Molly, I wear socks or go barefoot at home all the time. I wish I could be barefoot all the time. I usually am barefoot actually... unless it's just too cold! :)

    2. Ha ha! That is a great typo. I'm sorry about your headache, I hope you are feeling better today.

I highly recommend the soup - it was even better this time. Yes, at least it's just a little citrus and the end of apple /pear season right now. Turning away melon and pineapple - oh my gosh! So hard!

Agreed - barefoot in warm conditions!

  3. Beautiful window. All the food here looks good (love the jar of soup of course), but there is something about "walnuts and pomegranate dressing" that sounds especially appealing to me. Nuts in salad add such a nice texture.

I definitely pad about the house in slippers ALL the time. My current pair is leopard print. ;-)

    1. The jar o' soup happened again today, and will grace this page tomorrow! Apparently I made three and a half servings. ;) Walnuts and sweet dressing always, always go well together. If I had a pear or grapes - it would have taken it up a notch.

High five to a fellow slipper-wearing club member! Leopard print is much more exciting than plain light blue.

  4. Was the window photo inspired by Molly?

  5. I love the stained glass window. It reminds me of the Highline we have here. 4 stories must be huge.
The salad looks great. walnut and pomegranate is an awesome flavor combination and I always like nuts in my salads...
