Hello, Weekend!

The search for collard greens has ended:
A few large, droopy loose leaf bunches were available, so I went with the pre-cut version as they looked a little better.  I didn't get to cook them today, but I will tomorrow!

Breakfast from Whole Foods:

Afternoon snacking:

I picked up a Chipotle burrito bowl to take with me to a friend's house for the Broncos v. Ravens game (I went during half time, and stayed to watch the second half).  I forgot to take a picture, so I will use one from a previous Chipotle trip, as they looked the same!
I hope your weekend is going well, and I'll see you tomorrow!

  1. Yay for collard greens! Glad you were able to find some.

The breakfast burrito looks good as does the bowl. That's a great meal to watch a game with! Mike is watching the Packers play right now & is all excited. :)

    1. The Chipotle bowl was definitely better than their cheese, sausage, and crackers. I think they were all slightly envious of the vegan. ;)

  2. I love the idea of breakfast burritos - they just don't exist here, vegan or otherwise! What's in a typical breakfast burrito - tofu scramble, home fries...?

    1. Yes, tofu scramble and whatever else you'd like - all rolled up! This one had soy crumbles and veggies. You should make them at home, as they tend to be better that way anyway!

  3. The breakfast burrito does look great. The WF I usually go to only just introduced a breakfast bar so maybe I can find one!
Let us know how the bagged collard greens are. Bizarre that you couldn't find good ones loose! I wonder if it means there was something wrong with the crop. Did you check yr local farmer's market?

    1. The breakfast bar options for vegans are actually dwindling here - it's quite sad! Unless I want oatmeal.

I only stopped at one place, so there might have been collards elsewhere but I've had this bagged kind before, and they are still good!

Sadly, no Farmer's Markets are open right now. They are a May-October operation.

  4. Glad you found the Collards. I agree with FF, those Greens are in abundance around here.

Wish my local WFs would introduce a Breakfast Burrito. Perhaps it's your proximity to New Mexico that influences what your WFs serves.

    1. Yes, thank goodness! The greens should be in abundance here, too as they are in season. Not sure what it's all about.

We certainly have a lot of Mexican food, so it could be our proximity!

  5. Yum, I wish I could have a WF breakfast burrito. Looks delicious. At the WF in Austin they have amazing bfast tacos. I can have those. No gluten. Nice looking kale chips and Chipotle bowl :)

    1. Ooh, tofu breakfast tacos would be so amazing! You are so lucky! I have an addiction to kale and kale chips, it's quite ridiculous. ;)

  6. Haha yay I'm glad you found your greens! Can't wait to see how you cook em! That breakfast burrito looks ridiculously tasty and Starbucks is always tasty. I feel like Chipotle is perfect football food too. Hope you had fun watching the game!

    1. Breakfast burritos (although homemade are better) and Starbucks could sustain me for 2/3 of a day! Ha!

I enjoyed watching with other people, as I wouldn't have watched alone (not a huge sports fan) but it was a disappointing game!
