Celery, kale, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, carrots, green onion, cucumbers, broccoli.
Grits, spinach, Asian Chopped Salad mix, coleslaw mix, Galaxy Dairy Free Cream Cheese, garlic hummus, grapefruit, wheat bread, peanut butter.
I still have a little produce left in the fridge (collards, cauliflower, cremini mushrooms, yellow onion, half a red bell pepper, avocado, orange, and a pear), so you'll probably see those first. Here's to a week with more vegetables! Cheers!
Ooooh this grocery haul is indeed impressive! I can't wait to see what you make with everything! I really love all of the green you got as well. How do you eat your celery. I have a hard time with it but I know it's really good for you. I've snuck it into my juice and have had it with peanut butter, but any other suggestions would be great.
ReplyDeleteCheers to move veggies! Looking forward to checking out the meals!
I have a couple of basic ideas, but I need to peruse some cookbooks for ideas about raw and cooked veggies. I'm a fan of pb on celery, and also with hummus. Otherwise, it's a great addition in the skillet. Lends a nice crunch to dishes!
DeleteGreat job! Curious to see if you can make the Grits as good as your Dad does.
ReplyDeleteMinus all of the butter, I'm sure my grits can compare. ;)
DeleteI've said it before and I'll say it again: I love seeing grocery hauls! Especially in large, fresh, and very green amounts such as this.
ReplyDeleteDo you think about meals you'll make with things before you buy them? I'm pretty confident you'll come up with some delicious stuff.
Does this mean you'll do a grocery haul soon?! ;)
DeleteThat's a great question - sometimes I have in mind something, otherwise I go in and see what's on sale. In this case, I was thinking "lots of veggies". I had a couple things in mind, we'll see how it goes.
Awesome haul! I see a lot of green in there, which is terrific, and I love that you got grits. Looks like you're off to a great start! :)
ReplyDeleteI love grits, too! They have been out of my kitchen far too long.
DeleteOh, this is a good haul! You have so many options. This is going to be a great food week for you. Looking forward to see what you make with it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nikki! So far, so good!
DeleteYou've got to make something with those grits - I've never seen grits in action before! (Honest, I don't think they exist over here...)
ReplyDeleteJoey, I am happy to show you a grit or two. :)
DeleteGreat haul, and I look forward to seeing what you do with all that produce. I usually just bake my sweet potatoes and eat them in their skin, but I'm trying to think of something different to do with them.
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel! I was just thinking I need to do something different with the sweet potatoes! I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm hoping they'll turn out well.
