Accomplished

I completed my to-do list from yesterday in the morning, and it included:
And
Towards the end of my cleaning the house, I listened to the Inauguration festivities.  Appropriately, I drank coffee out of my mug purchased in Washington D.C.
I met a friend for a fated meal at WaterCourse. A 20 minute wait turned into nearly 50 minutes.  I took a picture of my meal, and apparently erased it.  *facepalm*  Here's a repeat picture, but it was the same meal: the Dona Lee Wrap.
I made kale chips and nibbled on a few in the afternoon, and will finish them off this evening.
Since lunch was large, I decided to make a smoothie for dinner.  Who am I kidding, I wanted a chocolate shake and this hit the spot.
Chocolate Rice Protein Powder, frozen banana, peanut butter, and vanilla almond milk.  So, yeah, I had dessert for dinner.  It was perfect. ;)

  1. Looks like a pretty ideal food day to me! I need some citrus in my life. I seriously love that mug, it makes me laugh every time I see it! Yikes at the waiting, I know what the waiting game is like unfortunately. My Dr. appt turned into a two and a half hour ordeal! Ridiculous. ANyway, bummer about deleting the pic! I've done that a few times by accident and I remember deleting one that I absolutely loved and just having a huge knot in my stomach because of it. It's such a bad feeling. Love the smoothie for dinner! I should do that if I'm not feeling super hungry. Do you ever use Vega? I'm obsessed with the awesome nutritional benefits. 2 servings of greens, plus probiotics and omegas!

    Hooray for productivity!!

    1. The oranges have been spectacular as of late, and I need to get my hands on some grapefruit before it's out of season!

Two and a half hours?! Holy cow! I hope they are getting some leads in the very least.

I haven't tried Vega, but definitely will! I have this large container of Chocolate Brown Rice Protein that I should plow through first, but maybe I'll cheat and try a single serving packet anyway!

  2. I missed the Inauguration but heard it was very nice. Glad you had the day off to enjoy it. And I love that mug.
Bummer about the lunch wait, I'd have heart palpitations and leave before 10 minutes were up. But I hope the wrap and company were worth it.

    1. I really only watched the swearing in ceremony, but I listened to what I could when I was near a radio.

I thought about that, but we kept thinking, "surely we're next". In the end the hostess was quite apologetic, and it did taste great.

      Dinnssert - I think it!

  3. I love that mug! So clever.

A 50 minute wait is ridiculous. We've had that happen a few times, but the food always ends up being worth it, at least.

I've been enjoying chocolate smoothies a lot lately. They don't help to warm me up but they hit the spot!

    1. Yes, the mug is pretty clever! They had a few to choose from, and should I go back I'll pick up a different one.

It's all about the end result on the plate, right? :)

Smoothies in the temperatures you are experiencing would not be ideal!

  4. Since Watercourse Foods is a restaurant in Denver that I've heard of, I would assume a 50 minute wait would be the norm.

That is a very real looking Chocolate Shake. Majorly creamy.

    1. Ha ha! But you must remember the population density is considerably less here than in Northern Virginia. 50 minutes would happen at 10am Sunday Brunch, and perhaps a few other places might squeak out with 40 minutes, but it's not normal. They do have the "we only seat complete parties" policy, which means even if there isn't a wait, you have to wait until everyone arrives.
