Shades of Brown

Work computer update: voicemail message from IT department dude, "uh, yeah. . .it's pretty messed up."  It's very validating to hear - it means I'm not crazy when I can't get it to work! Ha! It's still in the shop.  Er, hospital.  Or rehab.  Whatever.

Light neutral brown: cashews.  Rich medium brown: pumpkin banana muffin.

New brown:
Meh.  I didn't love it, but it might grown on me.  Perhaps cooking it into something?

Mixed browns: leftover Dijon Rice with plain brown rice, tempeh.  Not brown: broccoli.

Unpictured brown: peanut butter (the non-recalled kind.  It's made in Canada, eh!) and celery.

Burnt sienna orange-ish brown: Pumpkin Curry Cauliflower from Everyday Happy Herbivore.
And green peas.

Wishing you a colorful tomorrow! ;)  Okay, no more color puns. . .

  1. Oh no!! That really sucks about your computer. IT guy wasn't too helpful or reassuring. Hopefully it will be resolved!!

Haha I like your descriptions of the different browns. I think I like the rich medium brown pumpkin muffin the best. Mmm. Lunch looks really great too! I love rice bowls. They are so quick to put together but so yummy. I've been craving peanut butter like crazy lately. I had an old school peanut butter sandwich the other day and it was the best ever, ha! The pumpkin curry looks beautiful!

Good luck with the computer! Hopefully you'll get more optimistic voicemails in your future.

    1. I picked up my computer today! I've been afraid to turn it on, but I told the guy that I was going to keep his extension, and call him if I had any issue!

I liked the muffin best, too! PB is nice and satisfying like that. ;)

    1. The muffin was in my freezer, made last week! Here's the link:

May I presume, that the tempeh will appear on Day "T"? Unfortunately, I have not made my own tempeh! I've heard good things about Veganomicon's version.

  6. Ack, computer issues! Like you said, at least you got validation that it was messed up & it wasn't just you.

We have our brown days, too. It can be comforting every once in a while. :)

    1. I picked up my laptop this afternoon, so I'm hoping everything is all better. :)

Green days are better, but brown is good - as you said!

  7. Hey, at least you didn't title this post "50 shades of brown." Argh! You would not believe how popular that book is. I have not read it and don't plan to, but the library waiting list in central and western Massachusetts (where I work) has around 1000 people on it.

At first I thought you said IT told you, "Dude... it's pretty messed up" which would have been even funnier.

Anyway, brown though (some of) it may be your food looks pretty good, especially that curry.

    1. That title actually came up for Book Club, but I didn't read that month. I did go, and drink my share of wine, however. ;)

Ha ha! That would've been a great thing to say.
