Tasty Tuesday

Before the tastiness begins, here are a few of the titles I selected for the classroom (from yesterday's trip to The Bookies):

Of course, I can't help myself and even though I'm reading this, I pulled out Num8ers by Rachel Ward.  There is a large draw towards the fantasy / sci fi genre, and figured I'd give myself something to recommend (other than the Hunger Games, which I can't seem to keep on the shelf).  So far, it's pretty good for a YA read.

Ok, food:
Breakfast was a green smoothie: frozen banana, Justin's Maple Almond Butter, flaxseed milk, and spinach.

Lunch was inspired by Sarah's chopped salads.  Why did I wait so long? Chopping everything into bite sized pieces is awesome!  Organic Girl's I Heart Baby Kale mix, mushrooms, carrots, red onion, artichoke hearts, dry roasted chickpeas. Served with balsamic vinaigrette.
Quick errands and a long walk with Remy later, I snacked on a little Tamari roasted pumpkin seeds and popcorn (not mixed together, but I bet that would've been good.)

Dinner: My usual miso.
A little bit of green at dinner, so I almost had another "greens at three meals" day.  :)

See you Thursday!

  1. Looks like the students will have some fun books to read! I love the little skull on "Monster High."

Yum for the banana/almond butter smoothie! I'm so glad you tried (and liked!) the chopped salad! I don't know why I enjoy them so much more that way but I do. The roasted chickpeas is a great touch!

I bet the seeds and popcorn would be great together :) ANd the miso looks delicious as always!

Hope tomorrow goes quickly for us!! :)

    1. A little buy in for the end of the year! It was a great smoothie, and you definitely know what you're doing when it comes to the chopped salad! Next up - having one with avocado.
