Spring Break Friday

Feeling significantly better, but still coping with a dull ache in my head - especially when moving.  Darn these allergies! I didn't do too much other than spend a little time with a friend, I'm anticipating the return of productivity tomorrow.

Strawberry-banana-date-kale smoothie (also included about a cup of water):
I broke the seal - it's the return of iced coffee (nearly 80 degrees calls for cold coffee):
Lunchtime leftovers (and I bought some sriracha - I added a lot, even though it doesn't look like it)
Afternoon snack: yesterday I also purchased tofu spring rolls, but sadly these were not the freshly-made large rolls they serve in the restaurant.  Nonetheless, they do serve the best peanut sauce (with more sriracha!).
A little later I had a small ramekin of pistachios.

Uninspired dinner (a repeat from earlier in the week): onion bagel with Follow Your Heart "cream cheese", cucumbers
I haven't eaten it yet, but I do plan on slowly savoring this dessert:
Hooray for the weekend, boo for the end of spring break.

  1. I'd say spending time with a friend and eating awesome meals is highly productive! :) That smoothie sounds great! I'm not going to lie, I'm more than a little jealous of your iced coffee :) I'll have some at some point as a treat, decaf for sure.

I bet the sriracha helped clear you up! The rolls look lovely even though they aren't what you expected. The bagel looks great! And I'm quite jealous of your dessert! I've never tried them before but I've heard good things.

I hope the weekend goes nice and slow for you and that you continue to feel better!

    1. I suppose it is a little productive! Ha! The smoothie was sweet, another great way to sneak in the kale. I forgot how strong Starbucks makes their iced coffee - I don't add any sweetener or soy. I was definitely buzzed (the coffee I make at home is weak to medium strength!).

I can't believe I waited so long to buy sriracha! So glad to have it on hand. The dessert was perfect! And it's nice to support a local company.

Thank you, I'm hoping the same! :)

  2. Good for you for getting your own sriracha; that stuff is good. My favorite thing to order from this Thai restaurant nearby is Sriracha Fried Rice. They now call it Spicy Fried Rice. Once I ordered Sriracha Fried Rice after they changed the name and the person on the phone said they didn't have that any more so I ordered Spicy Fried Rice instead. When I took the take-out container out of the bag at home, I saw the chef had written "sriracha rice" on it - ha!

All the food looks very good. I hope you enjoyed the pb cups!

    1. Hi Rachel! Sriracha Fried Rice sounds fantastic! I've already thought of a couple ways I could use it. The only other hot sauce in my collection is Cholula, which I use which frequently to spice things up.

Thank you! The pb cups were great, very decadent!

    1. I'm currently obsessed with Pho, and you have tried it - I'm sure you can imagine why! Spring break is over, and this is just a normal weekend. Sad that it's over!
