Green Indeed

As promised yesterday, I paid for my indulgence last night by having a lot of greens today.

Green #1: Spinach, gala apple, frozen peaches, water.  I'm out of straws, so it made for an interesting experience.
Green #2: Kale, green cabbage, shredded carrots, Lite Goddess Dressing
Green #3: Afternoon snack of cooked peas with a little Earth Balance and ground pepper.
Green #3.5 : Let's be honest, it's really only green in color.
Spinach Fettuccine with Happy Herbivore's Alfredo Sauce.  Sprinkled a little crushed red pepper for show (and taste).  My only issue with this HH sauce is that the recipe does not match the ingredient list.

I'm in need of a workout, but Wednesdays I typically work 9-10 hours, so that's not happening today.  Why can't we all work less, but be paid the same? The world would be full of happy people if it were true.  :)

  1. I love that even your snack was green! I bet drinking a smoothie sans straw was a whole lot of fun! Out of a jar nonetheless! Major talent points earned there.

You salad looks really great, as does the pasta alfredo!! I've seen that recipe pop up a bit lately and it looks soooooo good! I need to get out some of my cookbooks for some inspiration, my meals have been very...consistent (ly boring) lately.

    1. By the time I hit the afternoon, I decided to just go for it - green it all up! Luckily, it snowed yesterday and will stay cold for a few days, thus removing most of my desire for a green smoothie until I buy more straws. :)

Perhaps the universe is telling you to rip open the Happy Herbivore recipes, and have at it!!

  2. Haha, I agree with VAVA - you really outdid yrself with those peas. Took it to the limit!
The kale salad looks fabulous, and I like the sound of the smoothie - I've never tried one with frozen peaches.

    1. I didn't love the frozen peaches, but I'm out of frozen bananas (and the ones on the table are still not ready to freeze). I'd recommend banana over peach.

The kale salad was great, especially with a little "cole slaw" effect happening.

  3. I like all of it except the peas. I'm not a pea girl. But, I would munch on all the rest!

    1. Is it texture or taste that doesn't work? I love peas, but I definitely have my foods that don't agree with me!
