This weekend I was a bridesmaid for a friend I've know for 16 years - it was such an honor to be included. The setting was at a local country club, and the weather was super sunny!
Unfortunately the eats on both Friday and Saturday were not vegan-friendly. Thus, I ate some bread or nothing at all. On the way home from the wedding reception (feeling gross from having eaten only some bread throughout the day), I stopped at Whole Foods and ripped through the salad bar. The reception itself was lovely, and the cake looked beautiful (obviously did not partake in it, but I'm sure it tasted fine). My dear friend is a nurse, and she married a police officer - check out the cake topper.
So, that's it for weddings - as of now! My calendar clears up for the rest of year, with only a few events here and there. I'm excited and ready to get back to normal!
Coming up: 5k training week 6
What a beautiful setting! Super cute cake topper too! I love the center pieces, I'm a firm believer in simple arrangements...and trust me, I've seen gaudy! My sister in law had daisies for her wedding too, such a beautiful flower. Glad that you had fun even though you didn't get to eat anything. I know how tough that is.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful weddings. I love that cake topper! When my son saw the picture of your stuffed peppers on your previous post he said, "That looks delicious!" They do look delicious!
ReplyDeleteNo Salad or Veggies at the wedding? Shame on the country club for not providing for vegetarians. Also, you would think a nurse would want a nutritious menu. I could go on and on about this one...oh damn, now I'm pissed!
ReplyDeleteSarah - Hi! I hope you're on the mend! I think the main issue was that it was a brunch menu - but no plain fruit (it was slathered in yogurt). It was definitely scenic - and hot - as I have the sunburn to prove it!
ReplyDeleteLori - The cake topper was really cute! The peppers were delicious - tell your son "thank you" for me. :)
Shen - I know! However, I'm sure it was the last thing on her mind. Luckily the salad bar at Whole Foods saved me (no children thieving any morsels).
Bummer about the meal (or lack thereof); Shen's right - it would seem that at least a salad is par for the course, no? Nice topper, though. I guess they come in a lot of variations these days!
ReplyDeleteFF - I absolutely forgot to bring along a munch-able snack. Usually I'm good about that. The cake topper was definitely cute!
